The Hockinson Fun Days celebration kicks off with family bingo on Friday, May 31, and a lineup of family-friendly events planned for Saturday, June 1.

“I’m expecting another successful year, and I love being part of this event because it’s Hockinson’s largest community event of the year,” Hockinson Boosters President Julie Atchley said.

Doors for bingo will open at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, May 31, at the Hockinson High School Commons, with the games taking place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Bingo cards and daubers will be available for purchase along with concessions and dinner options being made available.

On Saturday, June 1, festivities will start with a pancake breakfast at 7 a.m. at Clark County Fire District 3’s station off of Northeast 159th Street. The breakfast will run to 11:30 a.m. and will include all-you-can-eat pancakes, ham, eggs, coffee and juice. The breakfast costs $25 per family or $7 per person. All of the proceeds will be donated to a local family in need.

From 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, a marketplace bazaar and food vendors will be located at the Hockinson School District turnabout next door to the fire station.

The bazaar will feature items from local artisans such as goat milk soaps, Native American prints, handmade jewelry and more. Food vendors include Papa Murphy’s Pizza, Getta Gyro

Disco Lemonade — Hot Sandwiches & Fun Beverages, Sweet Tooth Ice Cream Truck, Hockinson Market serving hard-scooped ice cream, among others.

Elim Lutheran Church will be hosting a special interest car cruise-in from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 1. The church will make its beloved pulled pork sandwiches and will be serenaded by live music provided by the Katie Jane Band.

A country fair-style carnival will start at 10 a.m., on Saturday, June 1, but will temporarily close at noon for the parade. The carnival will start back up for the rest of Hockinson Fun Days from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The carnival at the Hockinson Community Center’s upper parking lot off of Northeast 182nd Avenue will include classic games, a music stage, demonstrations and more.

The Hockinson Fun Days Parade has a stacked roster kicking off at noon. It will travel from Northeast 159th Street, make a left at Northeast 182nd Avenue and end at Northeast 164th Street. Roads for the parade will close at 11:15 a.m. This year’s grand marshals are Greg Gospe and Dave Olsen, recently retired Hockinson school board members.

This year’s parade includes the Prairie High School Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps, five cars from the Mustangs Unlimited club, various equestrian groups, marching bands and more. Shuttle rides between Hockinson High and Hockinson Middle schools will be available throughout Saturday, June 1, for those needing to park outside of central Hockinson.
