Northwest Oboe Seminar opens registration for oboists

Northwest Oboe Seminar has opened registration for its upcoming event on Saturday, Aug. 17, at First Evangelical Church, 4120 NE St. Johns Road, Vancouver. Registration is due by Wednesday, July 31.

Northwest Oboe Seminar’s 30th annual event will be available for high school, collegiate and adult oboists and will cover a variety of topics related to oboe performance.
A public evening concert will be held at 7:30 p.m., with tickets available for $15 at the door. A reception will be held after the concert.

This year’s seminar will feature guest Earle Dumler, a recording artist who has performed in tracks for TV shows, including “The Simpsons” and “Star Trek.”



The seminar’s registration fee is $150 and includes an evening meal, a “Reed Tips Clinic” with Brent Hages, minor instrument repairs and mini workshop by Mark Chudnow, a seminar T-shirt and an accompanist if needed.

Auditors are welcome to attend and have a reduced ticket price of $40 at the door. Auditors may observe the guest’s focus session and will receive a concert ticket, a press release by the seminar stated.
